The High Falls Flowage is well known for it's
wild shorelines, great fishing, fun activities and a fun resort
area. It is almost completely wild, and will stay that way because
it is surrounded by the 9,000+ acre Peshtigo River State Forest.
The closest town (with only 1 stoplight) is Crivitz, WI, about
a dozen miles away. |
|
The Dockside is a really fun bar & grill
with homemade soups, good food, fair prices, and a great crowd
of people. The owners, Skip & Dianne are very personable
and very enthusiastic, and it shows. They run a great place and
people have fun there. |
|
They are also big into helping
out the community. They host the Bob Cowie Memorial Panfishing
Tournament and Fish Fry, part of a fund raiser to help stock
the local flowages. They are active in the Iron Snowshoe snowmobile
club, and each fall they hold a Hunter's Auction fund raiser.
Last Fall, the proceeds were used to equip local EMTs with portable
defibrillator. |
