High Sugar Levels Cause Gastroparesis

Diabetic gastroparesis happens when the nerve in the stomach of a person no longer functions properly because of diabetes causing the slowdown of food digestion. Because of this slow emptying, painful symptoms are often experienced by those who suffer from this medical condition. The common symptoms include: bloating, fullness, vomiting and nausea, cramps in the stomach area, heartburn and bloating. Those who have gastroparesis due to diabetes are often those who have been suffering from diabetes for many years now. Since high sugar levels in the blood causes damage on the nerves including that which are found in the stomach, it does not digest the food normally. Sometimes, the symptoms cause by diabetic gastroparesis are severe and often leads to poor lifestyle, it affects the daily living of the patient. There is no cure yet for this condition so it is better to live healthy life to avoid such illness.
