How Do They Work?

Now that I understand what a tankless water heater is, I feel quite a bit better. Seems like technology is advancing faster than ever before and that tankless water heaters have the opportunity to save everybody some money. Even though the principle is sound, how exactly does it work? That is still something that I do not grasp all that well. I can’t wrap my head around it just yet, but it does sound fantastic. So can someone please explain to me, in layman’s terms how does a tankless water heater work and how does it manage to cut your electricity costs in the process? They sound extremely handy for someone who is on a very strict budget and wants to bring their bills down a bit. Is it new and fancy technology that has brought us this wonder or do we have the innovation of science to thank for making our lives so much simpler and easier?
